A Letter from Our Bishop
Hello to all and to each of you,
2023 is here and our purpose is unchanged as a diocese, “We challenge ourselves and the world to love like Jesus as we: worship joyfully, serve compassionately and grow spiritually.” Those are the words that the people of The Diocese of Atlanta choose to use to give voice to what we believe God is calling us to do and be in Middle and North Georgia.
Despite a pandemic, political unrest and general uncertainty we nevertheless are clear, God in Jesus Christ has asked us to imitate him in the world. In this issue of Pathways you will see some of the faces and places our shared purpose is being enfleshed. Look into the pages that follow and you will see us teaching children the truth about God and our neighbor. You will see us providing space, care and support for those in a new and strange land. You will see us tending to the incarcerated and their victims. And, you will see us loving our Episcopal Church enough to ask people to imagine how we can offer her to people yet to come through her doors.
I pray these pages serve as inspiration to you as you chart your way and work in service to Jesus Christ.
Bishop Robert C. Wright
